Board nominated as next Parkersburg Police chief

PARKERSBURG -- Mayor Tom Joyce has nominated Capt. Matthew Board to be the next Parkersburg Police chief.

The nomination is on the agenda for Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

If confirmed by council, Board would succeed Joe Martin, who retired in December as the city’s longest-serving police chief. Interim Chief Scott Elliott has led the department since then.
