Four people arrested on drug charges
PARKERSBURG — Local drug sales brought four people into custody over the weekend.
Saturday, Clifford Edward Jones, 47, 322 Egypt Run Road, Mineral Wells, failed to yield at an intersection, leading to a traffic stop and his arrest, according to criminal complaint filed with the Wood County Magistrate Court.
Erin Nichole Duvall, 23, 527 Ellis Ave., Parkersburg, was a passenger who was also arrested.
The officer saw the handle of a firearm under Duvall’s seat and the complaint said she also had a large amount of cash in her jacket pocket.
Two firearms were found in the vehicle along with drug paraphernalia, cocaine and methamphetamine, which Jones said belonged to him, the complaint said.
When the two were taken into the police station, Duvall asked to go to the bathroom and afterward, officers found two bags with cocaine and methamphetamine, which she later stated she hid in her bra, according to the complaint.
“She admitted that Mr. Jones had given her some cocaine earlier, that she snorted, and when they were in the vehicle, he gave her the items that she had in her bra,” the complaint said.
Jones is being charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and Duvall is being charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver. Both were being held at North Central Regional Jail on $75,000 cash bonds.
