PARKERSBURG -- Members of law enforcement from Wood and Jackson counties arrested two people for drug sales this week.

Surveillance of a drug sale happening at 1506 25th St., Parkersburg, on Tuesday led to the arrest of James Raheim Davis, 18, 2127 11th St., Akron, Ohio, according to a criminal complaint filed in Wood County Magistrate Court.

Agents from the Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force conducted the surveillance, which stemmed from an investigation as it was believed Davis and a 17-year-old male were selling heroin/fentanyl at the 25th Street address in Parkersburg, the complaint said.

Davis and the juvenile were seen exiting the front door of the residence and when officers approached him, he fled on foot, leading to a pursuit, according to the complaint.

He was apprehended and found with two cell phones and a large amount of currency, the complaint said. The juvenile male had a heroin/fentanyl mixture in his groin area along with a large amount of currency and a cellphone, the complaint said.

Davis admitted to earning the cash by selling marijuana at 1506 25th St., the complaint said. He said he knew the juvenile male had powder on his person, but claimed he thought it was powdered sugar, according to the complaint.

Davis was charged with conspiracy to deliver fentanyl and is being held at North Central Regional Jail on a $100,000 surety bond.
