AEP Ohio: Belpre power outage caused by squirrel
BELPRE — More than 500 residences lost power outside of Belpre on Wednesday morning.
AEP Ohio is reporting 501customers lost power at 8:41 a.m. in the Belpre Township area outside Belpre.
A company spokesperson said crews located a squirrel who had gotten into some of the equipment and caused the outage. Crews have patrolled the lines to make sure no other problems were out there and they have not found any other problems.
The spokesperson believed all repairs were made by 11 a.m. and power was restored.
