PARKERSBURG — First degree robbery and making death threats toward law enforcement brought two men into custody this week.
Wednesday, Levi Scott Jarvis, 23, 100 Mineral Manor Way Apt. 202, Mineral Wells, was arraigned on a first degree robbery charge after an incident Aug. 15, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Wood County Magistrate Court.
Jarvis and a female went to a home in Washington where they came into contact with the victim, a female with whom the two lived at one point, the complaint said.
They told the victim Jarvis wanted to retrieve his tennis shoes that were inside the house but the victim said he could not get them because she had stolen from her, according to the complaint.
Jarvis then entered the house carrying a handgun which the victim said he pointed at her. He then went inside and took three pairs of tennis shoes and the victim’s wallet which was said to contain at least $600 in cash and a check made out to the victim from her employer, the complaint said.

“The victim advised she was in fear for her life,” the complaint said.
The female with Jarvis confirmed the victim’s statement, according to the complaint.
Jarvis is being held without bond at North Central Regional Jail.
After making threats to a Vienna police officer John Lee Herald, 56, 98 Rubes Hollow Road, Cedar Grove, was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court on Wednesday.
Herald refused to identify himself during the call and prior to the phone call, Vienna police officers had responded in regard to a domestic violence protective order and he was served Nov. 7, according to a criminal complaint.
During the phone call, Herald made threats to kill, chase, choke and “find you if that’s the last thing I do,” the complaint said.
The caller identification showed Herald’s name and a sergeant was able to identify his voice because he had made contact with Herald several times prior to the call, the complaint said.
Herald is being charged with retaliation against a public official and is being held at South Central Regional Jail on a $75,000 surety bond.
