Chamber promotes Small Business Saturday, Window Decorating Contest

MARIETTA –­ The Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce with Marietta Main Street and the Marietta-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau are promoting Small Business Saturday 2021 and the annual Window Wonderland Decorating Contest.

Since its start in 2010, Small Business Saturday has become a large part of the economy in Marietta for the holidays.

To help celebrate, the chamber, Main Street and the convention bureau are collaborating to publish a guide of store hours and promotions that will be available on the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page.

On Small Business Saturday on Nov. 27, they will distribute to the first 100 visitors Shop Small tote bags and Marietta Bucks at the Visit Marietta tent.

The tent will be located at Front and Butler streets in Marietta from 10 a.m. to noon.

Also on Nov. 27, the winner of the Window Wonderland Decorating Contest will be announced. The contest is annually hosted by the three organizations to promote the decoration of business storefronts.

To enter, businesses can to snap a photo of their window decorations and send it to info@mariettachamber.com. The contest is free to enter and the deadline for submission is Nov. 19.

All photos entered in the contest will be featured on the chamber Facebook page.

The winner will receive $205 off a 2022 Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce membership, a $250 MainStreet partnership and $200 off of any 2023 Marietta Visitors Guide ad as well as special advertising by the Chamber. Windows will be judged by one board member from each organization.
