PARKERSBURG -- Two Parkersburg men were arraigned by the Wood County Magistrate Court over the weekend after separate incidents involving burglary and strangulation.
Dustin James Whytsell, 24, 1326 Broadway Ave., Parkersburg, allegedly broke into a home this past March, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Wood County Magistrate Court.
Officers responded to a breaking and entering in progress and spoke to a person in a neighboring apartment who said someone was beating on her neighbor's door, the complaint said. The witness said Whytsell was at the apartment in question and had threatened the victim's boyfriend. The victim said she did not know Whytsell, the complaint said.
The front door had been kicked in and it was nearly off the hinges, injuring the victim in the process, according to the complaint. The complaint said Whytsell had come to the residence to fight the victim's boyfriend and when the victim answered the door, she asked Whytsell to leave and he kicked the door in, according to the complaint.
Whytsell allegedly threatened to beat the victim and hit the television, the complaint said.
Whytsell is being charged with burglary and was being held at North Central Regional Jail on a $25,000 surety bond.
After a separate incident that happened in January 2020, Jonathon Michael Loncala, 25, Parkersburg, was charged with strangulation, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Wood County Magistrate Court.
Last year, law enforcement responded to Warren Avenue in Parkersburg and spoke to the alleged victim, Loncala's sister, who said he had grabbed her by the throat and pinned her against a wall after the two got into a physical altercation over a set of keys, the complaint said.
The victim said Loncala threatened to kill her before throwing her into a table, grabbing her by the neck, picking her up off the ground and slamming her down, the complaint said.
Bruising on the victim's body was consistent with her story, the complaint said.
Loncala was being held on a $50,000 surety bond.
