PARKERSBURG -- A Parkersburg man was charged with arson on Thursday after an incident with a Little Debbie box truck last week, the Parkersburg Police Department said.
The fire occurred in the early morning of April 28 on Edwin Street in south Parkersburg, the police department said. The fire department found the engine compartment of the truck on fire, resulting in the destruction of the vehicle and its contents, the police department said.
The investigation showed the fire was intentionally set.
Detective M.S. Brown determined the suspect in the fire possibly resided at 1502 Crescent St., Apt. A, Parkersburg, the residence of Chad Michael Wilson, 25, the police department said. Detectives on Thursday served a search warrant at the residence and found Wilson inside and evidence was collected believed to be related to the fire investigation, the police department said.
Wilson was charged with third-degree arson, the police department said. He was arraigned in magistrate court where bond was set at $50,000.
Wilson was remanded to the North Central Regional Jail in lieu of bond.
