PARKERSBURG -- A Parkersburg man was arrested Wednesday after harassing the wives of two West Virginia State Police troopers.
Last month, victim A reported a complaint against Ethan Ray Morrison, 31, 624 Kenner St., Parkersburg, about harassment after past incidents with her husband, a state trooper, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Wood County Magistrate Court.
Morrison reportedly filed an online complaint at victim A's place of work under the alias Seth Cook; the nature of the complaint was similar to Morrison's previous statements, the complaint said.
"(Victim A) advised she became distraught that someone was attacking her because of her husband's profession and had to leave work," the complaint said.
On a later date, victim A's place of employment told her she had another complaint filed against her claiming she had sent the complainant explicit photos, the complaint said.
She again said she didn't feel safe and had to leave work, according to the complaint.
Officers listened to the recording of Morrison's complaint and recognized his voice. In the recording, Morrison could be heard in the background saying "(Victim B) is next," the complaint said.
Victim B also contacted law enforcement last month saying Morrison was harassing her because of his past with her husband, also a state trooper, the complaint said.
A letter was mailed to her place of work which detailed a complaint against her which was in the same nature as a complaint Morrison made over the phone in January, according to the complaint.
"(Victim B) advised she became more alert, vulnerable, fearful and violated," the complaint said.
Recently, Morrison called victim B at work wanting to set up an appointment with her, the complaint said. He allegedly called several times until he got through to her voicemail, the complaint said.
"(Victim B) after this voicemail is very fearful knowing Ethan Morrison was attempting to get her alone with him and was harassing her," the complaint said.
Tuesday, law enforcement spoke with Morrison and played a recording of the voicemail, the complaint said. Morrison claimed he would leave the two women alone if the troopers would leave him alone, the complaint said.
He also said he was only trying to get in contact with victim B to prove he was not crazy and that her husband was trying to get him, according to the complaint.
Morrison was convicted of harassment in October. This is his second offense, the complaint said.
He was charged with two counts violating an order prohibiting stalking or harassment and was being held at North Central Regional Jail on a $20,000 cash bond.
