Accident on Grand Central Avenue

The southbound lanes of Grand Central Avenue were blocked for about an hour Monday morning after a four-car accident near the Grand Central Mall’s south entrance. Vienna Police Sgt. J. Cole said a 2016 Kia Cadenza failed to stop for a traffic light and rear-ended another car, pushing it into the car in front of it, which then struck a fourth vehicle. Minor injuries were reported by some of the vehicles’ occupants, but no one was taken by ambulance from the scene, Cole said. Devon Johnson, 30, 410 28th St., Vienna, was driving the Kia and was cited for failure to maintain control and driving on a suspended license. Southbound traffic was rerouted through the mall parking lot while Vienna Police and firefighters cleared the scene. (Photo by Evan Bevins)
