Parkersburg authorities make drug, breaking and entering arrests

PARKERSBURG -- A drug bust involving a seizure of 14 grams of fentanyl and an instance of breaking and entering resulted in two Parkersburg men being taken into custody after separate incidents over the weekend.
The Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force conducted a search at the residence of Kevin Romel Henderson, 39, Parkersburg, resulting in his arrest, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Wood County Magistrate Court.
Henderson was inside the residence at the time and a box was found close to the door, the complaint said. Inside the box was over 14 grams of fentanyl, over $6,000 in cash, paraphernalia and a handgun, according to the complaint.
"The aforementioned items are consistent with distribution of controlled substances," the complaint said.
During a mirandized interview, Henderson admitted the items inside the box were his, the complaint said.
Henderson was charged with the possession of fentanyl with the intent to deliver and was being held at North Central Regional Jail on a $150,000 surety bond.
On Sunday, a passerby drove by her friend's storage building on Lynn Street because she had heard reports of thefts and breaking and enterings on the property, according to a criminal complaint filed with the magistrate court.
Gavin Richard Bennett, 23, 16 Ashwood Drive, Parkersburg, was found leaving the building with a bag full of electronics and miscellaneous items, the complaint said.
Law enforcement responded to the building where the front door was unsecured and several items had been moved around, according to the complaint.
"Mr. Bennett made several utterances that he had removed all electronics from the building and that he had a key to the building," the complaint said.
However, the only key he had on his person was a plastic hotel key, the complaint said.
Bennett was charged with breaking and entering and was being held at North Central Regional Jail on a $25,000 surety bond.
