VIENNA -- The Grand Central Mall in Vienna will hold Community Day from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. March 20 to celebrate the arrival of spring and the openings of HomeGoods, T.J.Maxx and PetSmart.
The newspaper in today’s edition incorrectly said the event is this Saturday.
The free Community Day will feature live music, art, food trucks, games and giveaways.
The new HomeGoods and T.J.Maxx have opened and PetSmart will open March 20.
Activities include:
* The City of Vienna’s Big Truck Day in the parking lot near Party City.
* The Humane Society of Parkersburg and PetSmart will host an Adopt-A-Thon for dogs that need a home. The Adopt-A-Thon will be located in the space next to Cardinal Market.
* Entertainment from John Gallagher and Preston Dabbs, a chainsaw demonstration by Brad Holbert, live sculpting demonstration by Melonie Gingery, live art from Lydia White, a DJ and photo booth by Premier Productions Entertainment, Bite Mi, Hillbilly Hibachi, Lisa’s Sweets, The Bodega and Kona Ice food trucks, stock car display from West Virginia Racing Heritage Festival and indoor and outdoor yard games including ping pong, Connect 4, cornhole and yard pong.
The following guidelines apply:
* Practice social distancing and stay at least 6 feet (2 meters) from other people.
* Face coverings.
* Do not gather in groups.
* Adhere to each individual tenant’s COVID-19 policies.
* Adhere to all federal, state and local regulations, recommendations and mandates regarding COVID-19. The Code of Conduct is posted at the Center and available online.
