PARKERSBURG -- Two Mid-Ohio Valley residents were among the four people whose confirmed COVID-19-related deaths were announced Monday by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.
The deaths of a 79-year-old man from Wood County and a 78-year-old woman from Wetzel County were included in the DHHR's daily coronavirus update, along with a 93-year-old Cabell County man and a 63-year-old Fayette County man.
"We send our deepest condolences to these families as they navigate the loss of their loved ones," DHHR Cabinet Secretary Bill J. Crouch said.
The state also announced COVID-19 vaccination clinics for people age 65 and older this week in all 55 of West Virginia's counties. None of the events in this region have open appointments. All will use names on existing wait lists. The times and locations for these events are:

* Pleasants County: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Pleasants County Library, 101 Lafayette St., St. Marys.
* Wirt County: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Coplin Health Systems, 483 Court St., Elizabeth.
THURSDAY
* Calhoun County: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Calhoun Middle/High School, front loop, 50 Underwood Circle, Mt. Zion.
* Jackson County: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Jackson County Armory, 8832 Pt. Pleasant Road, Millwood.
* Ritchie County: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Ritchie County 4-H Camp, 4-H Camp Road, Harrisville.
* Wood County: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., WVU-Parkersburg Early Learning Center, 300 Campus Drive, Parkersburg.
FRIDAY
* Calhoun County: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Calhoun Middle/High School, front loop, 50 Underwood Circle, Mt. Zion.
* Doddridge County: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Doddridge County High School Technical Center, 65 Doddridge County School Road, West Union.
* Gilmer County: 9 a.m. to noon, Sue Morris Sports Complex, 1294 U.S. 33E, Glenville.
* Roane County: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., City of Spencer Armory, 207 E. Main St., Spencer.
* Wetzel and Tyler counties: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wetzel-Tyler Health Department, 425 S. Fourth Ave., Paden City.
* Wood County: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center, Medical Office Building B, 705 Garfield Ave., Suite 360, Parkersburg.
