Water line leak in Williamstown impacts residents

A water line leak in Williamstown will cause water to be shut off city-wide Friday and a boil water advisory which will extend through Monday morning, according to a social media post from Mayor Paul Jordan.

City employees became aware of the leak on a main water transfer line around 6 a.m. Friday in the 500 Block of Victoria Avenue and Sixth Street, Jordan said. The mayor advises residents to avoid that area if possible.

Water lines will shut off at 9 p.m. and are expected to be down for several hours.

"The guys have worked all day to be as prepared to have everything ready so they can minimize the amount of time we will have the water shut off," Mayor Paul Jordan said in his statement.
