MALTA, Ohio -- A local company helped welcome back students from holiday break by donating another 5,000 masks to schools in Washington, Morgan and Noble counties.

At the beginning of the school year, 1,500 masks were donated to area schools and Malta Dynamics of Malta said it is continuing to help keep students and staff safe with half of the school year remaining.

"Several of our team members have children in school," Malta Dynamics CEO Damian Lang said. "The face masks are helping to protect what matters most to our staff while helping the local communities."

The breathable, three-ply masks provide all-day comfort and safety for adults and children. They are also disposable, which helps with sanitation purposes, the company said.

"Our area schools are likely in more need of masks now than they were in the fall," Malta Dynamics Operations Manager Greg Brown. "We want to continue to help keep people safe and supplied with quality face masks. We also have greatly reduced the price of our 3-ply masks for purchase as well to the general public."

With mandatory mask guidelines still in place, schools will use the masks provided for replacements throughout the day as well as for visitors who do not have a mask.
