BELPRE — A positive COVID-19 case among students or staff was confirmed at Belpre Elementary School on Thursday in a press release on the Belpre City Schools website.

According to the release from Belpre Elementary Principal Lauren Keeling, school officials have worked with public health professionals at Marietta/Belpre Health Department with contact tracing. The health department has completed its contact tracing protocol resulting in zero additional students or staff quarantined from the building.

Names of persons diagnosed with COVID-19 is protected health information and therefore cannot be revealed to school officials, staff, or community members by the health department.

Health department staff have already called all impacted staff who have been identified as close contacts to provide them with more specific instructions and monitor them for symptoms.
