BELPRE -- A positive COVID case was confirmed at Belpre Elementary School on Friday, according to a statement released from Belpre City Schools Superintendent Jeff Greenley and Belpre Elementary School Principal Lauren Keeling on the school district website.
A phone call was also placed to parents, which stated that seven non-teaching staff individuals came in close contact with the individual and are now quarantined from the building per health department order. This was also confirmed in the official statement release.
"School officials have worked closely with public health professionals at Marietta-Belpre Health Department with contact tracing," Keeling said in the statement.
Greenley encouraged members of the Belpre City Schools community and beyond to continue to socially distance and wear masks.
"The better choices we all make cumulatively as families will help stop the spread," Greenley said.
