Wood County Deputy injured in shooting incident
PARKERSBURG – A Wood County Sheriff’s Deputy was injured Saturday after an shooting incident, according to Sheriff Steve Stephens.
The deputy was transported to WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center to be treated for his injuries and he is expected to fully recover, Stephens said.
No further information is available as it is an active investigation with the West Virginia State Police but more details will be released once the investigation is completed, Stephens said.
“We have been overwhelmed by support from our community and inquiries as to his condition. Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers, not only for our deputy and the department, but for the involved subjects and their family,” Stephens said.
