Roane County High School student tests positive for virus

SPENCER -- A student at Roane County High School tested positive for Coronavirus on Friday, according to a press release from Roane County Schools.

The positive case was discovered by Roane General Hospital and the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department, and school was dismissed early so buses could be cleaned before use for middle school and elementary school students, according to the release.

Roane County Schools has also begun contact tracing and precautionary cleaning, and all extracurricular activities planned for this weekend involving Roane County High School students have been postponed, according to the release.

Any individual who is experiencing symptoms of Coronavirus should isolate and contact the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department at 304-485-7374.
