PARKERSBURG -- Downtown PKB will hold a virtual costume contest this year in lieu of its traditional Monster Mash held in downtown Parkersburg.
To participate in the Virtual Halloween Costume Contest, put on a costume and take a selfie or have someone take a photo and any time between 8 a.m. Saturday and 11 p.m. Oct. 31 email the photo to jessica@downtownpkb.com.
Include with the submission the first and last name of the person in the photo, along with the age category. One entry can be submitted per person, but multiple entries can be sent in the same email.
For example, if there are multiple children in the same family. When submitting multiple entries, make sure to include all information for each picture.
Prizes will be awarded for the cutest, scariest and most original costume in the age categories of up to 24 months, 2-5 years, 6-10 years, 11-16 years, 17 and older and families.
A panel of judges will review submissions and choose the winners, who will be announced the week of Nov. 2 on the Downtown PKB Facebook page, @downtownpkb, and prizes will be mailed to the winners. To review contest rules, go to our Facebook event page or its website, downtownpkb.com.

Judges are: Jessie Siefert, managing director and director of education, Parkersburg Art Center; Eric Little, co-host of the More Music Morning Show, V96.9; Ben Bradley, ReStore director, Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley; Jill Parsons, president/CEO, Chamber of Commerce of the Mid-Ohio Valley; Sarah Arnold, director of marketing and communications, OhioSE and owner and founder, Clutch MOV; and Jason Wyers, coordinator of curriculum and instruction/special assistant to the director, Wood County Schools.
