PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Courthouse will be closed Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Wood County Commission President Blair Couch confirmed a county employee had tested positive for COVID-19 and the Wood County Courthouse and the Judge Black Annex will undergo a deep clean.
''In an abundance of caution for our staff and the public, we will be cleaning all areas of those buildings,'' Couch said.
The Wood County Circuit Courts and the Wood County Magistrate Courts will be open Wednesday as well as the Wood County Circuit Clerk's Office.
Both the Wood County Courthouse and the Judge Black Annex are expected to be reopened Thursday for business, Couch said.
When asked if people will need to be isolated or tested, Couch said they were unsure.
They will be using the CDC and the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department's recommendations.
''(Wednesday) gives us a pause to see what will need to be done,'' Couch said.
