Gov. Jim Justice said Tuesday marching bands will perform this year at football games.
The governor issued a statement after it was reported the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission said bands will not perform at extracurricular activities this fall.
“This decision was made without my input,” Justice said.
He directed medical experts and the commission to go “back to the drawing board” to find a safe way for our bands to perform.
“The WVSSAC will release the new marching band guidelines this afternoon,” Justice said.
