PARKERSBURG -- Parkersburg police and fire departments are directing traffic downtown Monday afternoon after a two-vehicle accident near Sheetz that knocked out power to traffic lights on Ann and 4th streets. Traffic is backed up across the Belpre Bridge, and toward the U.S. 50 West entrance ramp, and motorists are asked to take an alternate route. Mon Power is on scene.
According to Parkersburg Police Officer M. Eichhorn Jr., a vehicle traveling south on Ann Street attempted to turn left onto 4th Street and t-boned another vehicle that had also been traveling south, which then struck a utility wire. Eichhorn said minor injuries were reported, with one person being transported from the scene.
