Wood County car crash

The driver in an accident Friday afternoon near U.S. 50 and Montgomery Hill Road was transported to WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center in stable condition, Eastwood Volunteer Fire Department Deputy Chief Gary Goodwin said. According to Goodwin, the vehicle was headed east on U.S. 50 when it went off the road, over an embankment and into the woods. The cause is under investigation by the Wood County Sheriff’s Department. The driver was extricated from the vehicle, which was heavily damaged. The Eastwood and Deerwalk volunteer fire departments, the sheriff’s department and St. Joseph’s Ambulance Service responded to the accident. (Photo by Madeline Scarborough)
