PARKERSBURG -- Roane County's total number of COVID-19 cases increased by one, Calhoun County's decreased by one and Wood County's has so far remained the same after hundreds of tests were administered over the weekend, according to a release from the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department.
Roane County has had 11 positive cases since reporting began, the release says.
Calhoun County's total recently rose to three, but one of those has been removed.
"The individual had originally tested positive but followed with two negative tests. Therefore, it is not deemed a true case," the release says.
There were 628 tests administered Friday and Saturday at the Parkersburg High School parking lot. As of noon Tuesday, the Health Department had received 269 results from those tests, all of which were negative.
Wood County's confirmed case total remains at 52. The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources also lists the county with four "probable" cases, which account for individuals with symptoms and evidence of the disease - either from antibody testing or a link to a confirmed case - but no confirmatory test.
