Two injured in Gallia County crash

GALLIPOLIS -- Two people were injured in an accident Wednesday night on Ohio 218 in Gallia County where the road was closed for about four hours, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

Brandon M. Leach, 26, Gallipolis, and Kiara Leach, 7, also of Gallipolis, a passenger in the 2005 Jeep Liberty driven by Leach, were taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital by medical helicopter, the patrol said.

The accident happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. near milepost 17 in Gallia County, the patrol said.

Leach was driving south on Route 218 and drove off the right side of the road, the patrol said. He overcorrected, drove off the left side of the road and struck a culvert and overturned, the patrol said.
