Three Republicans and three Democrats are running for U.S. Senate.
On the republican ticket are incumbent Shelley Moore Capito, Larry Eugene Butcher and Allen Whitt.
Democrats running are Richard N. Ojeda II, Paula Jean Swearengin and Richard Allen Robb.
Early voting started on Wednesday. The primary election is on June 9.
Butcher lives in Washington, W.Va. He has ran for the state Senate, for governor and the U.S. Senate six years ago. He has experienced as a farm laborer, steel painter and the United States Air Force.
Whitt, of Charleston, is making his first run for public office. He was a consultant for Dr. Billy Graham and is president of the Family Policy Council of West Virginia
Capito has served in the House of Delegates and the U.S. House of Representatives. She was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2014.
Ojeda served in the West Virginia Senate fro 2016-2019. He ran for the U.S. House of Representatives two years ago in District 3.
He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and the founder of Logan Empowerment Action and Development.
Swearengin previously ran for the U.S. Senate against Sen. Joe Manchin. She is a board member and representative of the Keepers of the Mountain Foundation and starred was featured in documentary, "Knock Down the House," about her 2018 campaign for office.
Robb was mayor of South Charleston from 1975 to 2007. He ran for the state Senate in 2008, the House of Representatives in 2006 and governor in 2004. An attorney, he served in the United States Army.
