PARKERSBURG — Volunteers with Wood County Schools distributed thousands of meals Wednesday to families throughout the county. The cases, each containing food for five lunches and five breakfasts, are part of a county student meals program, helping keep kids fed during the statewide shutdown of schools due to COVID-19. Superintendent Will Hosaflook said some sites ran out of meals Wednesday, but were able to procure more cases from other nearby sites. Officials will increase the number of meals available at those locations. The program is expected to distribute meals every Wednesday while schools remain closed, but Hosaflook said the size and timing of meal shipments could affect those dates.
