Wood County, some Washington County students to receive Burger King coupons
PARKERSBURG — Charton Management, which operates the local Burger King Franchise, and Hall Financial Advisors have joined together to provide students with 2,000 free student meal coupons.
Wood County, Marietta, Belpre and Warren public schools that have been set up to provide free lunches during the mandatory COVID-19 closure will distribute the coupons on a first-come, first-served basis.
“With the recent closing of schools in West Virginia and Ohio, and the disruption of students’ daily routines, my business partner, Grant Wharton, and I thought a warm meal and kind gesture were in order,” said Matt Herridge, Burger King franchisee. “We were proud to partner with the Hall Financial team who have a great record of service in the Mid-Ohio Valley.”
Each of the 2,000 student recipients will be given a coupon redeemable for a meal consisting of a hamburger, cheeseburger or chicken nuggets, along with a side and a drink.
“The donation of $6,200 worth of food is a small price to pay to remind our local students that we’re all in this together and to spread a little cheer,” said Chris Hall, managing principal at Hall Financial Advisors.
