Man succumbs to injuries suffered in auto accident

PARKERSBURG -- A man has died from injuries received in an accident Thursday on West Virginia 47 in Wood County, the sheriff of Wood County said.

Charles Edward Yeager, 77, Troy, W.Va., died at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown where he was transferred to from WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center, the sheriff's department said.

The accident happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. in the 9000 block of Staunton Avenue, Route 47, where the vehicle went out of control and off the road, striking several embankments before coming to arrest, the department said. Yeager, the only person in the vehicle, was ejected, the department said.
