Camden Clark is Going Red for Heart Month
PARKERSBURG — WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center kicked off a series of Heart Month events Friday with the annual Women’s Heart Luncheon at the Parkersburg Art Center. The February events aim to bring awareness to heart healthy living and cardiac care available in the area.
From 8-11 a.m. today at the Health and Wellness Center, Camden Clark will offer lowest-cost lab screenings in the area and free EKGs, officials said.
Screenings available will include:
* Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, $15, which includes CBC, thyroid function and lipid profile.
* Cardiac Reactive Protein, $5.
* Hemoglobin A1c, $5.
* Prostate Screening, $5.
* Thyroid Function, $5.
* Bone Density Scan, $5.
Parkersburg Cardiology Associates will provide free EKGs, body fat testing, BMI checks and tours of its facilities. No appointment or physician order is required.
Twelve-hour fasting is required for some tests. Cash or checks only will be accepted.
From 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Grand Pointe Conference Center in Vienna, Dr. Geoffrey Cousins, chief of cardiac surgery, will be the featured speaker at Dinner with a Doc.
Participants will learn about the continuum of cardiac care available to the Mid-Ohio Valley at Camden Clark. Cost is $8 per person and advance registration is required by contacting Joyce Hubner at 304-424-2055 or email@example.com.
