Parkersburg man facing malicious wounding charge

PARKERSBURG -- Jonathan Forshey, 28, 4816 Second Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned Friday in the Wood County Magistrate Court on a charge of malicious wounding after allegedly striking a male in the shoulder with an aluminum baseball bat.

According to the criminal complaint, the defendant was in search of his girlfriend, who fearing for her safety was staying at the victim's residence. The defendant allegedly told the victim that if they were hiding his girlfriend inside, he would kill everyone. The complaint said the victim advised the defendant to leave and turned to go back inside, when he was struck by the defendant.

Upon striking him, the defendant allegedly told the victim he had five seconds to tell him the truth about where his girlfriend was or the victim would be done.

The victim then locked himself inside his residence and notified the authorities. Forshey was being held at the North Central Regional Jail on a $75,000 surety bond.
