Sara Taylor, director of the Mid-Ohio Valley Multi-Cultural Festival pageant, was pleased that all of her festival royalty rode in a float for the Christmas Parade on Market Street and attended the Winterfest lighting at Bicentennial Park and the Parkersburg Municipal Building after the parade.
Members of the Mid-Ohio Valley Multi-Cultural Festival royalty are Jessica Madison, Mrs.; Dana Johnson, Forever Queen; Gabrielle Maynard, Ms.; Ally Harper, Queen; Savannah Knowlton, Teen; Aeriana Nicolai, Young Miss; Jasmine Wright, Preteen, and Grace Taylor, Ambassador.
The festival royalty donated canned goods to help feed people in the local area.
Ally Harper, a senior at Point Pleasant High School, is the first queen of the Mid-Ohio Valley Multi-Cultural Festival pageant in Parkersburg to compete at the West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festivals Pageant Jan. 9-11 at the Charleston Civic Center.
Harper will be competing against 90 other young women from various fairs and festivals at the statewide pageant.
Royalty from the MOV Multi-Cultural Festival pageant from 2019 give up their titles on April 19, 2020, said Taylor.
The MOV Multi-Cultural Festival takes place in June at Parkersburg City Park.
As a pageant coach and director, Taylor said she wants to help girls and young women to develop confidence in themselves and help their communities.
Taylor, of Parkersburg, used her seven years of pageant experience to put together a pageant for the multi-cultural festival three years ago.
