PARKERSBURG -- Dustin Halko, 37, of 708 13th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court Thursday on a charge of malicious assault after allegedly stabbing a woman in the head with a knife following a verbal argument.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim advised that the defendant continued to grow more angry as they argued, so she had attempted to leave but was physically blocked from leaving by Halko. The victim then advised that Halko allegedly began waving a knife in front of her making statements like "I will kill you, your whole family and your dog."
The report states she tried to calm the defendant down by telling him that she loved him but he continued to yell before raising the knife in the air and stabbing her in the head.
The complaint states she immediately had blood running down her face and sat on the bed, at which point Halko allegedly then begin running the same knife up and down her inner thigh and making sexual comments to her.
The complaint says the victim then ran out of the room, and Halko then threw the open knife at her and the handle struck her in an area under the breast.
The report did not indicate whether the victim sought medical treatment for any wounds sustained or the seriousness of her injuries.
Magistrate Brenda K. Marshall set his bond at $75,000 surety. As of Thursday night Halko was still being held at the North Central Regional Jail.
