The Parkersburg Police and Fire departments are responding to an accident on Murdoch Avenue near Lakeview Drive in which a vehicle struck a utility pole.

PARKERSBURG – Traffic on Murdoch Avenue was reduced to one northbound lane near Lakeview Drive this morning after a single-vehicle accident snapped a utility pole and damaged two others.
A member of the Parkersburg Fire Department said the driver of the car was not injured in the accident, which was reported around 8:17 a.m. A power line, which was apparently not active, was down across Murdoch, while other lines had been dragged low by the broken pole across the front of the Lakeview Shopping Center.
