PARKERSBURG — The Internal Revenue Service in Parkersburg has announced its Taxpayer Assistance Center (TAC) at 425 Juliane St. will move to a new location on June 16.

The new location is just a few blocks away at 700 Market St., which is conveniently on the bus transportation line.

Taxpayers requiring face-to-face assistance need to call 1-844-545-5640 and make an appointment before visiting this office and should always check IRS.gov for days/ hours of operation as well as services that are offered there.

The TAC at the old location on Juliane Street will be open through 4:30 p.m. on June 12. The new location on Market Street will open for business at noon on June 16. Normal hours of operation will continue to be Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closing for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.

All IRS TACs throughout the nation now provide service by appointment. Studies show that many taxpayers visit an IRS office to get a tax transcript, make a payment, resolve a notice, obtain a form or publication or ask about their refund. Many of these issues can be resolved at IRS.gov without traveling to an IRS office.
