Deliramich gets maximum sentence

Will have to register as a sex offender for life

PARKERSBURG — Almost one year to the day after his arrest, Stefan Andrew Deliramich was sentenced Thursday in Wood County Circuit Court on charges of distribution and display to a minor of obscene matter.

On Feb. 7, he pleaded guilty to two counts, as part of the plea agreement and other counts against him were dismissed.

Deliramich, 31, was sentenced by Judge Robert Waters to a maximum sentence of two consecutive terms of five years in prison with credit for 363 days served on one count. In addition to serving 10 years in prison, he will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life under the provisions of the West Virginia Sex Offender Registration Act. He will also be required to provide a DNA sample to the Division of Corrections.

Prosecutors said at the time when Deliramich was the youth pastor at a Williamstown church, he used fake Instagram and SnapChat accounts and posed as a 16-year-old boy with the screen name “ethanrjones22” between April 2015 and February 2016.

Prosecutors said there was never any physical contact between Deliramich and those he came in contact with through the accounts.

Deliramich was indicted by the September 2016 grand jury on 14 counts, seven for use of obscene matter with intent to seduce a minor and seven counts of distribution and display to a minor of obscene matter.

Starting at $2.99/week.
