PARKERSBURG – The Alzheimer’s Association West Virginia Chapter will host Savvy Caregiver, a nationally acclaimed evidence-based six-week training course, beginning 1 p.m. April 12 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Lifetime Partners in Parkersburg.
Savvy Caregiver will help participants gain skills to assess the abilities of their loved one with dementia, confidence to set and alter caregiving goals, strategies to manage activities of daily living, an understanding of the progression of Alzheimer’s disease, essential abilities for self-care and an increased ability to work effectively with professionals providing care.
The training course will be held 1-3 p.m. April 12, April 19, April 26, May 3, May 10 and May 17 at the Camden Clark Medical Center in the conference room at 2801 Birch St., Parkersburg.

Savvy Caregiver is provided through the Ohio Department of Aging and the Buckeye Hills Area Agency on Aging 8 through the Older Americans Act Title III-D program.
