Drug Court celebrates graduations

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Juvenile Drug Court will graduate its 99th, 100th and 101st graduates at 4 p.m. Wednesday, the second court in West Virginia to reach the milestone. The local Juvenile Drug Court accepted its first participant in November 2010 and is the second longest continuously operating Juvenile Drug Court in West Virginia. The drug court generally meets weekly in the courtroom of the presiding judge, Family Court Judge Darren Tallman. The case coordinator is Larry Whitehair of the Wood County Juvenile Probation office. Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department slates health fair for Wednesday

PARKERSBURG – The Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department will hold a health fair from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Landing in Parkersburg. The clinical department will be available for blood pressure checks, referrals and labs. Dental, WIC and threat preparedness will also be there to hand out information about their programs. Other agencies from the region will be attending with information on insurance plans, acupuncture, career development, youth programming and community resources. Belpre Farmers Market opens Sunday

BELPRE - The Belpre Farmer’s Market at 515 Blennerhassett Ave. kicks off its season with opening celebrations from noon-3 p.m. Sunday, Mother’s Day. Local vendors, food truck, ice cream truck and live music will be available. The farmer’s market is in its third year and has free parking and admission.
