PARKERSBURG -- Penny Channell will be displaying her oil and acrylic artwork during November at WesBanco Bank.
Channell, of Parkersburg, is well-known locally from her private exhibits, but she does not exhibit competitively. She is interested in having individuals enjoy and get inspired through her art and exhibits at various locations locally, according to a release from WesBanco. Channell has been an exhibitor several times at the bank. She received honorable mention in the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources 2027 calendar with her painting of the swallowtail butterfly, which will be exhibited at WesBanco.
Channell does consignment painting and has found that the subject matter most people want is the animals they love or something sentimental to the family, such as the homestead or farm.
"Art to me is my therapy and a very healthy outlet," said Channell.
She said she loves all colors, styles and subjects and always tries to have interesting subject matter. Channell knew at an early age, when she started drawing, that art would be a major passion in her life.
"I love studying people, their facial expressions, and mannerisms," Channell said.
The Channell art exhibit will be on display during regular business hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday during November, at WesBanco Bank, 415 Market St.
