Waters Fanta helps expectant mothers and babies

PARKERSBURG - Westfield has teamed up with Waters Fanta Insurance Agency to donate $5,500 to North Place Maternity House at North Parkersburg Baptist Church as part of Westfield's Legacy of Caring program.

Each year, Westfield's top independent insurance agents are invited to nominate a nonprofit in their community to receive a donation. Donations are made to dozens of nonprofits in cities across Westfield's national footprint.

Westfield's top insurance agencies are selected based on superior industry performance and excellence in service. Waters Fanta Insurance Agency has received the designation for nine consecutive years.

"Our team at Waters Fanta Insurance is passionate about supporting our community," said Amy Caruthers, a principal agent of Waters Fanta Insurance. "We are thankful for the powerful impact North Place Maternity House has on expectant mothers, their babies, and our community. We are thrilled we were able to partner with Westfield again this year to facilitate the awarding of these funds."

The Westfield Insurance Foundation, an independent private foundation endowed by Westfield, awards the donations to support their top agents' local communities. Since 2015, the Legacy of Caring program has supported nonprofits focused on helping individuals and families stabilize after an unplanned event, mirroring what the insurance industry does every day for their customers.

"We are grateful for the support of our ministry and excited to continue to provide a safe and healthy environment for expectant mothers through their pregnancy." said Terri Wagner, North Place operations manager. "The Legacy of Caring grant will have a direct impact on our efforts to make needed house upgrades and help to provide care and support to our program participants."

Westfield in its 178th year achieved this longevity by employees and agents working together to preserve and better communities, according to Ed Largent, Westfield president, CEO, board chair and Westfield Insurance Foundation chairman.

"Westfield continues to build on the strong commitment of caring that the founders of our company imagined," he said. "It's a great feeling to link arms with our agents and make an impact."

Locally, Waters Fanta Insurance Agency has partnered with the Westfield Foundation to award $66,000 since 2018. Previous local recipients include the West Virginia University of Parkersburg Foundation, the American Red Cross of Parkersburg, the Children's Home Society of West Virginia in Parkersburg, the Boys and Girls Club of Parkersburg, the Parkersburg & Wood County Public Library, Westbrook Health Services and the YMCA of Parkersburg.

North Place is an outreach ministry of North Parkersburg Baptist Church. Established in 1964, Waters Fanta Insurance Agency has locations in Parkersburg, Ripley and St Marys. Westfield was founded in 1848 and is a global leader in property and casualty insurance.
