PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Democratic Party will hold a "Pizza, Ice Cream and Candidates!" event from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Shelter 1 in Southwood Park, 2104 Belmont Road, in Parkersburg.
Democratic candidates running for the West Virginia Legislature and U.S. Congress will be invited.
"All Wood Countians are invited to attend and learn a little about our Democratic candidates running for office and appearing on the ballot in November," said Wood County Democratic Executive Committee Chairman Jeff Fox. "Voters will have the opportunity to speak one on one with our candidates. This is a great time for them to express their ideas and concerns about their neighborhoods and community.”
There is no admission fee, and the Wood County Democratic Party will sponsor free pizza, ice cream and bottled water for the event.
"Southwood Park is a great, centrally located resource with ample parking and great accessibility for voters of all ages," Fox said. "A lot of residents live within a five- or 10-minute walk of the park; we hope they stop by on Thursday evening and enjoy a treat!”
