Volunteer event to be held at the Resiliency Center

PARKERSBURG -- Local agencies are seeking residents with a desire to help the Mid-Ohio Valley emergency events with a volunteer drive event today at the Center on Market.

The event will be held at the Center on Market (the Wood County Resiliency Center) from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Area agencies are joining forces to hold a one-stop shop for everyone to become familiar with emergency response activities of each agency and register as a volunteer.

Some of the area volunteer fire departments will be on hand as well as the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department, American Red Cross, United Way and the Salvation Army and others to answer questions about volunteering and how people can go about doing it.
