Phoenix Twirlers win second consecutive National Championship

The Phoenix Twirlers continued their championship tradition this summer by capturing the NBTA Primary Small Halftime National Championship for the second consecutive year at the America’s Youth on Parade National Championships in South Bend, Ind. The Parkersburg-based baton twirling program had every team routine earn a national placement.
In addition to defending their Primary Small Halftime National Championship, the Phoenix Twirlers earned five national runner-up finishes. The success continued in individual competition, where multiple Phoenix Twirlers’ soloists earned top national placements throughout the week.
Just days before AYOP, the Phoenix Twirlers were crowned four-time Twirling Unlimited International Champions, winning four international titles at the largest Twirling Unlimited International Championships in the event’s history.
“Our athletes continue to raise the bar every season,” the coaching staff said in a news release. “We couldn’t be more proud of the dedication, teamwork, and heart they demonstrated throughout the week. Their success is a direct reflection of the hard work they have put in all season”
According to the news release from the team, the Phoenix Twirlers have become one of the Mid-Ohio Valley’s premier baton twirling programs, providing athletes of all ages opportunities to compete, perform, and develop confidence, discipline, and lifelong friendships. The organization is recruiting new members for its upcoming season. No prior baton twirling experience is required, and athletes of various ages and skill levels are encouraged to learn more about joining the team.
