PARKERSBURG -- The Parkersburg Area Community Foundation and Regional Affiliates of Doddridge County, Ritchie County and the Little Kanawha Area are now accepting applications for the fall cycle of the Community Action Grants Program. Eligible nonprofit organizations and public institutions serving the region are encouraged to apply online by midnight on Sept. 15. Through a single, unified online portal, applicants can submit their projects for consideration by the foundation, its regional affiliates and a diverse range of underlying charitable funds.
To qualify for funding, applicants must be tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or public institutions. The program or organization seeking support must operate within the foundation's eleven-county service area, which includes Calhoun, Doddridge, Gilmer, Jackson, Mason, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Wirt and Wood counties in West Virginia, along with Washington County, Ohio. While all qualified organizations in these regions are welcome to apply, priority for grant funding is given to projects serving Calhoun, Doddridge, Gilmer, Ritchie, Roane, Wirt and Wood counties.
The foundation provides financial support across a broad spectrum of needs to strengthen local organizations and communities. Funded initiatives typically include capital and equipment projects, program development, technical assistance, training, and capacity-building efforts, with general operating support considered under special circumstances.
