Frontier High School Graduate Miley Kiggans pursuing golf at college level

MARIETTA -- After a year that earned her two scholarships, Frontier High School graduate Miley Kiggans is ready to begin her studies in health sciences while playing golf at Marietta College.

Kiggans is a daughter of Scott and Mindy Kiggans of Marietta. She also has a brother and a sister.

KIggans played three sports during her high school years.

"I played softball, basketball and golf in my sophomore year," she said, "I golfed the last two years and played softball all four years."

Kiggans was a medalist at the MOVL (Mid Ohio Valley League) golf tournament in her senior year. Her performance in the tournament earned her a scholarship. Kiggans was also one of four students to be awarded the 2026 Coach Hank Morus Scholar Athletic Scholarship. That award totals $1,000 for each recipient.

"I will be playing golf at Marietta College," she said. "I liked the team and the coaches. It was like a close family atmosphere."

KIggans said after her visit to the Marietta College campus she knew it was the best place for her to pursue golf on the collegiate level.

While at Marietta College, she said she plans to major in health sciences.

"I plan to become a physician assistant," she said.

Kiggans said she would like to work with the elderly in either a care facility or hospital setting.

Kiggans has gotten a good start on her college career having completed college credit anatomy class through the Washington State College of Ohio while she was a student at Frontier High School

Kiggans said two of her favorite classes in high school were biology and chemistry.

At Frontier High School, Kiggans was a member of the student council and the National Honor Society where she was the secretary.

She also volunteers at the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley in Marietta.

"I'm one of the dog walkers a few days a week," she said.
