Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley dedicates house No. 118 with Barry family

BEVERLY – Board members, volunteers and donors joined the Barry family for a formal dedication of Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley’s 118th house on Sunday afternoon.
Jacob and Felicia Barry and their four children were presented with keys to their home, after completing sweat equity time on their house and others. They are purchasing the home through Habitat with a zero-interest mortgage.
Sponsors of the home include the Mary M. Welch Advised Fund through the Parkersburg Area
Community Foundation, the Marietta Community Foundation, Marietta Welfare League and
State Farm, with donations of appliances from Whirlpool, flooring from Way Floor Covering,

electrical box from State Electric, cabinetry and countertops from Top Shop, and toilets from
Parkersburg Plumbing.
Volunteers contributed 3,187 hours on the construction of this home, with many organizations and businesses providing lunches for volunteers as well.
“This is our second home we’ve built in Beverly, and we’ve really come to appreciate this community and their care for Habitat’s mission,” said Robin Stewart, Habitat executive director.

Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley is celebrating 35 years of building in Washington and Wood counties.
