The Parkersburg Area Community Foundation announced Thursday that the May 5, 2026 Give Local MOV campaign raised more than $550,000 in 24 hours, surpassing last year’s record of $531,385.

The 13th annual event supported 59 nonprofit organizations and thousands of individual donors for what the PACF called “a high-energy day of digital generosity.

“From animal welfare and environmental protection to arts, education, and human services, the funds raised will stay right here in the region to address critical needs and enhance the local quality of life,” the foundation wrote.

Organizers believe a major driver of this year’s record-breaking success was the matching funds and incentive prizes, which were funded by local sponsors. The “stretch pool” allowed eligible online donations to be matched dollar-for-dollar, effectively doubling the impact of community contributions.

“This event is made possible through the incredible generosity of our sponsors,” said Julie Posey, PACF’s associate director of development and stewardship. “Their support allows us to offer the matching funds and incentives that ignite our donors. Seeing the total climb past $550,000 is a testament to the fact that when we work together, the impact of every donation is significantly amplified.”
