PARKERSBURG – Wildlife photography by Dianne Wigal will be showcased at WesBanco during the month of April.

Wigal’s photography has appeared in the “Wonderful West Virginia Magazine” as featured images.

The Dianne Widgal Wildlife Photography Exhibit will be available for viewing during regular business hours at the WesBanco Bank at 415 Market St.

“What once felt like an annoying and intrusive bird flying overhead has now become exactly what I hope to find,” said Wigal in a release from WesBanco. “Wildlife photography has given me a deeper appreciation for patience, nature and the fleeting beauty of moments that last only seconds but can be remembered forever.”

According to the release, Wigal’s introduction to photography started when she received her first film camera at age 15.

Her hobby transformed into a career and she started portrait photography in the early 2000s.

“By the mid-2000s, I had developed a photography business specializing in weddings and portraits while working my way through college and eventually earning my nursing degree and becoming a registered nurse,” she said.

Wigal said in the release that her mother, who was also a wildlife photographer, encouraged her to pursue nature photography. Wigal said she spent hours traveling through Ohio and West Virginia photographing the wildlife she came across on her journey.

“Some days everything comes together perfectly, and other days I wait for hours only to head home without a single photograph,” she said. “Wildlife is unpredictable, and that challenge is part of what makes capturing the moment so meaningful.”

She said spring was her favorite season because she enjoyed photographing newborn animals. According to the release, Wigal hopes to share images so others could experience different perspectives.

Starting at $2.99/week.
