VIENNA – The Wood County Democratic Party will hold a Meet the Wood County Democratic Candidates event from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Vienna Community Building, 1301 34th St.
The evening is open to everyone, county party Chairman Jeff Fox said.
“All Wood Countians are invited to attend and learn a little bit about the Democratic candidates running for office and appearing on the Wood County ballot,” he said. “This casual event will feature some short speeches, but the real emphasis will be on candidates mingling face-to-face with area voters. They really want to hear what you have to say about local issues.”
There is no charge for admission. The Wood County Democratic Party will provide free snacks and beverages.
“The Vienna Community Building is a great area resource with ample parking and great accessibility for voters of all ages,” Fox said.
The primary election in West Virginia is May 12.
“Admittedly we have had some challenges filling our ballot in past elections, but for 2026 we have a full slate of Democratic candidates running for our five West Virginia House of Delegates seats and our West Virginia Senate seat. Plus, we’ve invited all the Democratic candidates running for U.S. Congress as well,” Fox said.
